2nd Market Capital Economic Opportunity Foundation announces $85,000 in support of Madison-area organizations

September 30, 2021 –2nd Market Capital Economic Opportunity Foundation, (2MC Foundation), the community outreach arm of 2nd Market Capital  Advisory, a registered investment advisor located in Madison, Wisconsin announces the approval of $85,000 in matching grants to Madison-area nonprofits committed to improving the lives of young people in our community.  

We believe the best way to enable all children to succeed in school, careers, and life is to provide access to educational and economic opportunities.

OUR 2021 PARTNERS:

The Mellowhood Foundation $10,000 matching grant to support The Mellowhood Foundation’s mission to provide opportunities for youth and parents in underserved and undervalued Madison neighborhoods.  Donations made to The Mellowhood Foundation will be matched up to $10,000 through December 15, 2021.

Simpson Street Free Press – $50,000 matching grant to the Simpson Street Free Press in support of its mission to deliver rigorous academic instruction in after-school settings and spread a positive message of youth achievement, academic success, and community service.  2eof will match donations to the Simpson Street Free Press up to $50,000 through December 15, 2021.

Operation Fresh Start – $25,000 matching grant to Operation Fresh Start in support of its mission to provide disconnected youth a path to self-sufficiency.  Donations made to Operation Fresh Start will be matched up to $25,000 through December 15, 2021.

About 2nd Market Capital Economic Opportunity Foundation (2MC Foundation):

In 2018, through an initial grant of $1M appreciated stock, 2nd Market Capital (2MC) funded the 2nd Market Capital Economic Opportunity Foundation (2MC Foundation).  As available, 2MC will make annual stock grants to the foundation.

2nd Market Capital Economic Opportunity Foundation (2MC Foundation) supports local organizations working to positively impact the lives of children and young people in our community by providing grants (primarily through matching funds) for education, youth development, and career and workforce readiness programs.
