2MC Foundation announces $65,000 in support of Madison-area organizations

May 30, 2025 –2nd Market Capital Economic Opportunity Foundation, (2MC Foundation), the community outreach arm of 2nd Market Capital  Advisory Corp, a registered investment advisor located in Madison, Wisconsin announces the approval of $65,000 in matching grants to Madison-area nonprofits committed to improving the lives of young people in our community.  

We believe the best way to enable all children to succeed in school, careers, and life is to provide access to educational and economic opportunities.

OUR 2025 PARTNERS:

Simpson Street Free Press – $30,000 matching grant to the Simpson Street Free Press in support of its mission to deliver rigorous academic instruction in after-school settings and spread a positive message of youth achievement, academic success, and community service.  2MC Foundation will match donations to the Simpson Street Free Press up to $30,000 through December 15, 2025.

Operation Fresh Start – $25,000 matching grant to Operation Fresh Start in support of its mission to empower emerging adults on a path to self-sufficiency through education, mentoring, and employment training.  Donations made to Operation Fresh Start will be matched up to $25,000 during the period July 23 through September 30, 2025.

Literacy Network – $10,000 matching grant to support Literacy Network’s mission to help adults in Dane County build skills, reach goals, and connect communities.  We know parents are a child’s first and most important teacher.  Donations made to help Literacy Network increase its capacity to serve new applicants will be matched up to $10,000 through December 15, 2025.

About 2nd Market Capital Economic Opportunity Foundation:

In 2018, through an initial grant of $1M appreciated stock, 2nd Market Capital (2MC) funded the 2nd Market Capital Economic Opportunity Foundation .  As available, 2MC will make annual stock grants to the foundation.
